LEAST RESTRICTIVE SUPPORT & CARE PACKAGES
We always ensure a package of care offer’s the least restrictive levels of support for a person, this is to enable legislation to be considered namely the mental capacity act in conjunction with maximising a patient’s independence. This may be achieved through specialist equipment to avoid persistent 1:1 support, it could be through recommending single handed care, assistive technology such as epilepsy sensor watches to alert, recommending an alternative environment or different staff team to reduce any behaviours that may challenge and pose risk to others.
Least restrictive support in longer term will and does enable improved quality of life and improve patient health and well-being while ensuring longer term cost savings to commissioning services.
No two cases will be the same – Please see our case studies section for further information of how this can benefit.
